Galbi Jjim

  • Beef shortribs,cut into 2 inch dices 1500.0 g
  • Knorr Chicken Powder 1KG, for seasoning
  • Corn Oil 180.0 ml
  • White Onions, quartered 320.0 g
  • Garlic, whole 60.0 g
  • Ginger, minced 45.0 g
  • Chili Flakes 15.0 g
  • Water 1500.0 ml
  • Star Anise 30.0 g
  • Cornstarch Slurry, for sauce thickener
  1. Galbi Jjim

    60 minutes
    1. Chop necessary ingredients.
    2. Season beef with Knorr Chicken Powder.
    3. Heat oil in pan.
    4. Brown the beef on all sides.
    5. When cooked, stir in the beef broth.
    6. Add the onions, garlic, ginger, chili flakes, and star anise. Stir very well.
    7. Pour water into the pot and bring to a boil.
    8. Simmer until the beef is fork tender and sauce has slightly thickened.
    9. Adjust sauce consistency with slurry.
    10. Stir in Knorr Rock Sugar Honey Sauce.  
  2. Garnishing

    2 minutes
    1. Remove star anise.
    2. Optional: Garnish the dish with leafy vegetables, carrots, onion leeks, rehydrated mushrooms, shallots and green apples.
